According to GoIndustry Dovebid, REC's former solar wafer manufacturing plants, Heroya I & II and Glomfjord have a capacity of 775MW and contain Generation 4 state of the art equipment from Meyer Burger, HCT, ALD, GT Solar, amongst others.

De første meldingene ved 15.00-tiden tydet på enten brann eller en eksplosjon inne på Herøya Næringspark, men det er foreløpig ikke rapport om noe dramatisk situasjon. Hverken i form av brann eller eksplosjon.
