YourSports is an online media network for amateur sports. It operates on a crowd funding model—people interested in watching a certain event online contribute in advance towards its production. Currently, viewers can contribute towards the viewing rights towards archived video of certain games, such as the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. Recordings that attract sufficient funding can be watched for free by contributors, or for a small fee by other viewers. YourSports began when founder Chris McCoy was interested in webcasting his hometown Babe Ruth League. The team had made it to the national championship game, but few of his neighbors had the means to travel to the match. He hired film students to help in the endeavor, but the webcast itself was not a complete success. Since then, YourSports has raised $900,000 in seed funding.
