Kathleen Elizabeth "Kathy" Hilton (née Avanzino, later Richards; born March 13, 1959) is an American actress. She is the mother of Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton. Hilton was born in Whittier, California. She is the daughter of Laurence K. Avanzino (1917–1998) and Kathleen Richards (née Dugan; 1933–2002). In 1973, when she was 14 years old, her parents divorced, and her mother remarried Kenneth E. Richards. Through her mother's remarriage, she has 2 half-sisters, actresses Kim and Kyle Richards. Hilton also has 5 half-siblings from her father's remarriage. She met Hilton Hotel heir Richard Hilton at age 15; they married in 1979. Rick and Kathy Hilton have four children: daughters Paris Hilton (born 1981) and Nicholai "Nicky" Hilton (born 1983), and sons Barron Hilton II (born 1989) and Conrad Hughes Hilton III (born 1994).
